The covers are off Macauley Jones' #4 DrillPro Racing wild card entry for the CrownBet Darwin Triple Crown event at Hidden Valley this weekend.
A white and blue DrillPro livery featured on Macauley's car for his Hidden Valley Supercar entry and Townsville Super2 entry in 2017, and revamped DrillPro colors will feature on Macauley's ZB and VF Commodores in the same two events again this year.
Last year was Macauley's first time lining up at the Darwin circuit as a wild card entry, where he qualified 26th for both races and finished 24th in the two races. This year, Macauley will be the only wild card contesting in the top end Supercars event.
Macauley "It's fantastic to have the continued support from John and Donna at DrillPro and their team. They have supported me for many years now and get a real thrill seeing the DrillPro Commodore on track, especially when they're trackside at their home event of Townsville."
"The Darwin and Townsville rounds are fantastic; the locals really embrace these events and lots people travel to these rounds because there is so much to see and do with the on-track and off-track entertainment. The atmosphere is always electric."
"Most people think since we've had a break in the race calendar that we've been able to relax a little bit, however there has been plenty going on in the BJR workshop. The #4 DrillPro Commodore has been built from the ground up and I've had two track days at Winton in the last two weeks. A lot of work and preparation goes on behind the scenes and on those days to ensure we're learning as much as we can as a team."
"The first test was my wild card test day in Tim Slade's Freightliner Racing ZB Commodore. It was my chance to get reacquainted with the Dunlop SuperSoft tyre, spend more time behind the wheel of the new car and for our crew to get some valuable practice in as well."
"Last week was our second Super2 test for the year, as always the seat time is great to keep you up to speed and will be handy going into next weeks event. All of this has made the gap between Winton and Darwin go very, very quickly!"
"I'm really pumped to be going racing this week at Hidden Valley. Being the lone wild card, I'll only be able to gauge how I'm going against the main guys, so it'll be a little different from my debut here last year. I'm looking forward to getting out there, taking in as much as I can and doing the best job possible."
Macauley will have continued support from PAYCE, EBA Hire, ALPHAFIT, Blue Dinosaur Bars, Karting Madness and Raceworks. Follow the BJR Supercars page for updates on Macauley across the race weekend.
